Overview
Cinematographer for a spec automotive film created in collaboration with an established director, designed to break into commercial automotive work through a high-end, self-produced piece.
The Problem
We wanted to create a film that could stand alongside real automotive campaigns, but without the budget, crew, or infrastructure those productions typically require. The challenge was achieving a premium look and feel with extremely limited resources.
The Approach
We focused on maximizing production value through timing, environment, and restraint.
Shooting at 5 a.m. during blue hour allowed us to capture soft, cinematic light while the city was still empty, giving us clean streets and a controlled environment without permits or heavy logistics.
We kept the setup lean and intentional, using a rented vehicle and minimal gear, while prioritizing composition, motion, and pacing to create a sense of scale and precision.
Every decision was about doing less, but doing it right.

The Outcome
The final film achieved a polished, commercial-level look on a sub-$500 budget, serving as a strong entry point into automotive work and demonstrating our ability to deliver high production value with minimal resources.
Reflection
This project was a reminder that production value doesn’t come from budget alone. It comes from timing, taste, and making the right decisions under constraint.
